Riley got dropped off at home after a long afternoon of shopping. She wanted to drop off some of the extra things sheâd bought at her house. It wouldnât be right for her to fill up Rowdyâs closet without his permission, but she wondered if he would mind.
Sheâd bought a cute dress and accessories for the party and was excited to be heading out for a night on the town. Rowdy told her to be ready by nine, and he would pick her up from the apartment. He took Infinity out for the day, and they were going to go out to lunch and maybe go to the park and play.
Riley couldnât get over the fact that Cretia didnât like her. Cretia didnât know Riley well enough to have an opinion of her, but that never stopped a person from not liking someone. Rowdy told her that Cretia was jealous simply because he didnât want her anymore, but Riley still didnât understand why she hated her. It was Rowdy whoâd made the decision to leave on his own and to move on with his life instead of being trapped in a messed up situation.
Riley was sitting on her couch, watching television, waiting for her beautician to arrive when her phone rang. She picked it up and noticed it was her mother. Riley didnât want to talk with her, but she knew that Diana would keep calling if she didnât answer.
âHi, Mama,â said Riley dryly.
âSo she does recognize the fact that Iâm her mother,â Diana asserted.
âYouâre so dramatic. Of course, I recognize you as my mother. Why would you say something like that?â Riley asked with a bit of an attitude.
âSince you didnât come to tell me bye when you left, I thought you were feeling some type of way about me,â Diana explained.
âI must admit; I was a little disappointed in you. You knew I was bringing Rowdy over for dinner, so I donât know why you invited Will,â Riley complained. âThings are over between me and Will, so you will have to accept it.â
âBut I donât understand why, dear. Will is a good man, and he really cares about you,â Diana insisted. âHe has a bright future ahead of him, and he doesnât have children.â
âAnd whatâs that supposed to mean?â Riley questioned.
âIt means that his attention doesnât have to be split between you and someone else. You canât tell me that Rowdy is able to tend to your needs and his daughter's needs at the same time,â Diana fussed. âWhat if youâre feeling frisky, and you canât do anything because Infinity is sitting there.â
Riley laughed at the nonsense her mother was speaking. âShe has a bedtime, Mama,â Riley giggled. âSo we wait until sheâs put to bed, and then, we do our grown-up thing. I think you need to stop being ridiculous and get on board. Daddy likes Rowdy, and thatâs whatâs most important.â
âSo my opinion isnât important!â Diana retorted. âIâm your mother! The woman who brought you into
